Oversee the engagement strategy for alumni, parents and friends who connect to Ithaca College through various affinities such as athletics, school and department based activities, other affinity activities, milestone reunions, and admissions. Oversee all aspects of program conception, strategy, and implementation, focusing on analysis of results to ensure increased engagement of alumni, parents, and friends. Serve as a proactive liaison with campus partners to create meaningful and mutually beneficial engagement and volunteer opportunities for alumni and parents with Ithaca College. Develop and manage volunteer advisory or advocacy boards and committees supporting schools and athletics. Plan and oversee volunteer activities to reach goals and objectives for Advancement and Alumni Relations, and ensure volunteers reach their full potential. Work as an active partner to connect alumni, parents and friends to other engagement opportunities in advancement. Work with Deans, program directors and department heads to develop, implement and manage leadership level advisory/advocacy boards and/or committees. Provide coaching on engagement and management of volunteers and work with IAC partners to identify high-level volunteers as part of the overall cultivation and engagement strategy. Contribute to the planning of board meetings and assist with management of subcommittees. Develop affinities programming that supports the schools, program’s and Institutional Advancement and Communication’s strategies and goals. Develop and implement a broad-based ongoing engagement strategy for athletics and school or department-based alumni, parents and friends. Set annual goals around volunteer development and participation, broad-based engagement connections and experience, and show return on investment. Work with deans, program directors, departments, and Institutional Advancement and Communication to identify, recruit, and support volunteer constituencies in the athletics and school-based affinities’ for milestone reunions, family of current student engagement, and admission recruitment and yield efforts. Work with these volunteer groups to develop communications and programming that will engage a broad base of individuals who have an interest in these aspects of Ithaca College. Work closely with Alumni Relations’ staff and administration to develop and implement collaborative programming, and leverage time, human, and financial resources to meet internal and institutional goals. Plan and implement affinities-based Alumni Weekend programming, collaborate with regional chapter programs to feature faculty and other affinity interests, and identify volunteers for mentoring and professional and life-stage programs. Serve as the point person for Institutional Advancement and Communication to schools and departments and their activities, in partnership with the Associate Vice President for Advancement and Communications. With Alumni Relations event coordinator, plan and implement affinity programming, and leverage existing activities to ensure college-wide success of the program. Work with schools, departments and Institutional Advancement and Communication to strategize and develop events and activities that aid in the recruitment, support and recognition of volunteers. Oversee the development, implementation and management of a system that provides support to tracking and managing the outer ring of volunteer engagement with the College, developing and maintaining a volunteer leader pipeline. Plan the ongoing strategy for a process that mutually supports advancement and other College stakeholders. Assist in the identification and recruitment of volunteers for classroom lecturers, other school or affinity-based events, and admissions. Serve as an active partner to admissions, affinity programs, schools and departments to provide best practices on volunteer management and training to serve the College’s needs. Work with Advancement Services staff to generate participation statistics and reports, and utilize this data to evaluate activities and strategize subsequent goals and activities. Provide demographic information on volunteers and alumni population to campus partners, to maximize impact of activity. Develop policies and procedures and prepare reports and analyses reflecting progress towards engagement goals and the effect of the program in alumni and parent participation. Work with Strategic Marketing Communication partners to create a comprehensive communications and marketing plan for affinity groups utilizing a wide array of communications vehicles including print, web, email, and social networking in concert with internal marketing for students, faculty and staff. Participate in and assist with events sponsored by the Division of Institutional Advancement and Communication. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years’ experience in alumni relations, academic or student services, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to think strategically, demonstrated attention to detail, listening and leadership skills, ability to work independently, demonstrated strong organizational, written and verbal communications skills Ability to manage, motivate, train, and support high-level volunteers and staff, develop and implement advisory committees, proactively interact with a wide variety of constituents, and plan special events Demonstrated ability to work with a range of faculty, staff and administrators on collaborative planning and execution of activities Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel; a working knowledge of budget processes and various word processing, spreadsheet, database, social media and web based software applications are required Experience working in a college or university setting is preferred
