The Baker Program in Real Estate is a top:ranked, two:year graduate program with 50 students and 19 Real Estate faculty members from across the Cornell campus. The Baker Program is administratively located in two of Cornells preeminent academic units, the College of Architecture, Art and Planning (AAP) and the School of Hotel Administration (SHA) and enjoys the support of the Cornell Real Estate Council. The position resides in AAPs Department of City and Regional Planning and reports to the Chair of the Department and the Director of the Program. The position is a tenure track/tenured position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and offering courses of exceptional quality in core areas of the Baker Programs curriculum including, but not limited to, courses on architectural design in real estate, residential development, affordable housing, and graphic communications. Typically, the course load will consist of four classes per academic year. Additional activities could include participation in preparing teams for competitions. The successful candidate will advise students as a member of the Graduate Field in Real Estate, and generally fulfill the service duties of a faculty member in the Baker Program.Successful candidates must demonstrate high quality research and creative practice through publishing, design work, and grant writing, excellence in teaching and advising, as well as professional experience in the U.S. and internationally. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree in planning, or a terminal degree in a related discipline (architecture, business, engineering, landscape architecture, law, real estate, or urban design).
