Technology Connection Sales Supervisor-The Cornell Store Job Description Responsible for the daily retail operation of the $7 million Tech Connect department, within The Cornell Store, including customer service training, sales training, staff scheduling, and vendor specific training of Tech Connect employees. This position will develop and maintain product merchandising standards, product placement, administer computer payroll deduction transactions, cleanliness standards, product replenishment, promotional marketing setup, and make suggestions to buying staff for various product lines based off customer feedback. Product lines include computer hardware, software, accessories, peripherals, and related business services. Services offered may require detailed product knowledge or technical skills to trouble shoot and diagnose problems. The Tech Connect Supervisor assists in developing promotions and achieving sales objectives. Responsibilities include merchandising the sales floor, setting up promotions, visual displays, and monitoring merchandise areas for restocking and sales opportunities. Effectively merchandises the sales floor to maximize sales performance, establishes and monitors merchandise presentation and visual standards throughout the department. Responsible for monitoring housekeeping, including general store conditions, maintenance and organization. Daily processing of incoming merchandise, shipping/receiving of merchandise to other store locations and general inventory planning. Assists with processing special orders including both in-store and departmental customers. Offers excellent customer service and effectively utilizes selling skills. Provides hands-on product demonstrations and communicates the features and benefits to the customer to secure the sale. Assists in the developing and implementing staff training programs and oversees functional workflow. This position works very closely with other staff members providing communication, direction, training and development on a regular basis. Must be able to work independently and multi task, handle conflict and work effectively with a variety of people. Provides customer service, cash register operation and cash handling. This individual will be a key holder and will be responsible for opening or closing the stores. Other duties as assigned by the Retail Store Manager. Qualifications Formal training of one to two years, two years of college course work, Associates degree, or related work experience. Preferred two to four years experience in a retail or customer service environment. Individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have strong background and understanding of retail technology. Must have some experience with computer hardware, software, accessories, peripherals or related services. Must have strong customer service skills, cash handling skills, and intermediate computer skills that includes MS office with strong skills in excel. Must be a team player, able to juggle multiple priorities, and work well in a fast paced environment. Must be able to effectively train and functionally supervise student, part time and temporary staff to carry out basic day to day tasks, sales training and technology specific training. Must have ability to keep current with technology and product lines Strong customer service, merchandising, promotional, and visual display skills required. Ability to multi task, handle conflict, and work effectively with a variety of people. Previous experience with retail inventory management systems including POS software. Individual must have computational and analytical skills. Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds. This position requires successful completion of vendor provided product trainings and certifications. Preferred: Director supervisor experience preferred.
